About Me

My name is Connor McKay and I am a Mass Communications major with an English minor at Bloomsburg University. I am 22 years old and from Carlise Pennsylvania. As a senior this year, I am both sad and excited to be moving on to another stage in my life and I hope to enter the working world prepared and poised from my training here at school. I have a number of interests I plan on including in this blog.

One of my biggest is music. I have attended music festivals since my senior year of high school and they will always be a part of my life. Some of my favorite artists are Borgore, Excision, Getter, and Buku. I also have a passion for sports. As the editor of our student run paper The Voice, I enjoy covering the games and lives of our athletes here at Bloomsburg. When I am not doing schoolwork, I keep up with many activities to keep me active. I enjoy long boarding and Ultimate Frisbee. The only downside to these activities is the cold weather that often occurs in Bloomsburg, but the REC often fills my need to be active where I often run and do yoga.

The things that I love most about Bloomsburg University are the people here. I have met friends that will stay with me for the rest of my life and I cannot be more grateful to the university for bringing us together. My gratitude is also felt for the staff here at Bloomsburg. The faculty both in my major and beyond have been so great at guiding me to the job world.

When I am not working or studying at school, I work as a bartender back home in Carlisle for my grandfather. Being a bartender is such a great job because I get to entertain people as well as, met people from all walks of life. At home I often find myself reading or watching movies when I have free time. Some of my favorite movies are Alien, Blade Runner, Prometheus, and Revenge of the Sith. Choosing a favorite book is much more difficult so it is easier to just list some favorite authors. The works of Homer, Poe, Shelly, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Hemmingway, Virgil, Hawthorne, and Brett Easton Ellis all have moved me in some way.
